Meet the Excellence Team

Tony established Excellence Driving Academy in Christchurch in 2010 teaching students using Eca Driving Simulators.  He established a busy branch and over 95% of his students passed their restricted on the first attempt.

Tony ran the Palmerston North branch from  2017-2026. In August 2026, the branch closed when he relocated back to Christchurch to semi-retire and continue to support drivers towards their licensing goals and be a safe driver in the process.

Tony's student's had a 95% pass rate stands after 12 years (significantly higher than the regional average). Tony has a passion for equipping all his students with the skills and confidence to be a safe driver for life, in any location. Passing a licence is an added bonus on the way.

Julian is a class 1 endorsed road & simulator driver trainer. His move to Christchurch in June 2025, means that the branch is now permanently staffed.

Julian has a teaching qualification with interest in ESOL, making him the perfect choice for our team.

DriverEd was established with the mindset that educating drivers is essential to creating safer roads.

Ryan's background in Education over the past 10 years has grounded his passion and instructing of young drivers that he works with.
